We don't need a groundhog around here to let us know how long until spring. As Hannah put it, we have a grounddog. Daisy began shedding her winter coat the day before Groundhog Day so we already knew that spring would be coming soon.
You know you have a shedding dog if...
you plan your wardrobe around the color of your dog's hair - or the color of the carpet you are purchasing, for the matter (and yes we've done both)
you have to stop in the middle of vacuuming a room to vacuum the vacuum cleaner off
you look outside after someone has brushed the dog and mistake the piles of hair for snow
you try using a vacuum cleaner on the dog. And even though it doesn't work and it scares her half to death, every year you get desperate enough to consider doing it again
you look into shaving your dog (and in case you were wondering, lab/daschund mixes - prevalent as they are - may not be shaved due to sunburn issues)
