We had our own version of March Madness at our house. I took this picture one morning because it held little clues about what was going on in our lives at the time, and I don't just mean the breakfast that the kids were eating. The piano in the family room (hadn't been moved back to the front room yet after the new carpet), Jacob reading the bottle of alcohol (I don't remember what that was out for), bread out to make sandwiches for lunches, the tape measure out to work on the stair ledge, Hannah's prom dress and sewing supplies on the kitchen table so that I could finish the hem, and a birthday present for Grandpa on the table. There was a lot going on.
Here's one way to practice the piano.
Callie's paint job has it's own post. She felt like she needed to get back up to school by a certain day, which also happened to be the day before her very favorite author came to visit the high school. Hannah may have rubbed things in just a little bit. As yearbook staff, she took pictures of the event and was able to get some of her own.
Hannah and BRANDON SANDERSON!

She was very nice and had him sign Callie's favorite book.
Sunday snap to Callie. I am certain that the sleepiness was very much deserved. I never knew parenting would be this exhausting.
Still trying to fit in our "nights" with the cute kiddos on Sunday evenings. We used every single card in the Rails, Rivers and Roads game, and Camden wanted a picture of our "epic" set-up.
We're in for some changes...trying out the new paint color.
Having a professional painter come to paint the house was a great deadline to get some things done that have bothered me since we moved into this home. One of the first things I noticed when we first toured this house was the baseboard and oak railing on this ledge by the stairs.

It didn't seem like the right way to finish off this space to me. Once I knew the painters were coming, I ripped off the side molding. Tyler kindly helped to remove the baseboard, pick out the right supplies, and install the new finishwork. I had the painters paint it all white, including the runner along the stairs that should have been white all along.

It just looks like it was meant to be like this in the first place! Maybe no one else will notice, but I love it. We are also loving the new paint and how fresh and light our house looks.
