Today Camden enjoyed browsing through yesterday's new library books in a comfy place just his size.
Today Emmie did the usual - climbed, smiled, pulled off her socks, tried to keep up with everybody and stared at the great outdoors through the windows. She also got shots and has been as chipper as ever.
Today Callie practiced the piano - rare these days as she prepares for the opening night of Pirates of Penzance.
Wedding Day at Trouldhaugen looks like this:
and she sounds awesome when she plays it! A treat for the ears:).
Today Hannah finished gluing the 100 crowns she and a few classmates (and her mother, too) cut out over the last few days - the Renaissance Fair is in 2 days!
Today Jake hunted dandelions in our yard. I pay a penny per dandelion head and today he got $1.92. The last time he picked was two days ago. Our yard has an enormous surplus of two things: rocks and dandelions that both either grow, or seem to, and we have declared open war on both.
Today it was actually sunny AND WARM, so I sent my two younger boys out to play in the backyard. Today we still have construction debris and an air conditioner sitting on our back patio.
Today Camden was content playing with broken PVC pipe, a mound of rocks & dirt, and the old cement pad for the air conditioner.
Today Drew went on the monkey bars and didn't break any arms (at least not yet - knock on wood!!!)
More fun in the construction debris: Today Drew built a slide from discarded wood, buckets and rocks. I hope he didn't really try to use it.
Today our fire pit looks like this. It used to be covered in a couple feet of dirt and rocks, so today I am grateful that at least it's use-able.
Today we still have a dog. Daisy is almost 14 years old and is feeling her age (and the results of 3 1/2 years of diabetes). Today she is still a good dog but she doesn't feel very good anymore.
Today I mended the knees of 7 pairs of jeans belonging to my 3 boys. I broke the news to Jacob and said I hoped he wasn't too disappointed that his jeans didn't have holes in them anymore. "Aw, Mom - I liked having holes." I showed him that they still looked cool and a bit scruffy. "I know, but now I won't be able to pick my scabs."
Today I have once again let the time go and it's almost time to eat dinner and I have yet to make anything. But tomorrow or 5,000 tomorrows hence at least I'll be able to remember some precious moments from today.
