Nativity 2016

We had quite the crowd for Christmas Eve at our house. Despite the fact that a stomach bug had run through several people in our family, Brian's family and Lisa were not deterred and still joined us for games at the church, dinner, and the nativity.

Camden takes his role of Joseph so seriously every year. I think he is going to be the most wonderful husband. Tyler takes his role very seriously, too, which  makes him a most wonderful husband.

I think we have an innkeeper here.

See what I mean? No promptings here - Camden just follows the example of his daddy.

Shepherd Lisa has a couple of really cute sheep.

One of them even wore a special sweater for the occasion.

And they were so attentive when the angel appeared.

"Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."

We had to throw in some wise men, too.

O, Come Let Us Adore Him
This is a fun - not necessarily reverent - Christmas tradition, but I always love the spirit that I feel when we gather around the piano at the end and sing Christmas carols.  It's what it is all about. This time was a little more exciting since the stomach bug hit Drew right in the middle of singing, but I whisked him off to his room to watch a movie while everyone else finished, and fortunately he recovered within a couple of hours.
