When Tyler blessed Hannah at the tender age of 2 weeks old, he knew that she was "blessed with her own direction of mind". That was the nicest way he could think to phrase it.
This girl got an ipod touch after putting together a huge powerpoint presentation on why it was a good idea and the rules that she would follow at the age of 14. We gave her plenty of warning that before she could get her license, she needed to have a working cell phone, and after being i-spoiled, she would have nothing less than an iphone. She did loads of research to find the right model, and more research to get the right price. She bought it online on black Friday and was awfully excited when it arrived.
And here she is ON HER BIRTHDAY with her brand-new driver's license, ready to drive me home, where she can drop me off and go to the library on her own. (no pictures, please, Mom)
We sorta like her.
We have a couple of lousy pictures to prove that we celebrated.
Presents for a pretty fantastic girl

Since this is a BIG birthday, she got to choose one of three ways to celebrate. She could do
2 hours on a snowmobiling tour,
a 1 hour hot air balloon ride
or
a day for 2 downtown
with tickets to ride the rail, tickets to a museum, money for lunch and money to shop at the mall.
She chose the hot air balloon ride. I kinda thought she would - it's on her bucket list. We are waiting for spring before she cashes in on that one.
