The Most Expensive Dishrack

Thanksgiving was a great deadline for getting a new dishwasher - ours had been on the blitz for a long time and was steadily declining.  It's a good thing we started early in November.  Tyler uninstalled our dishwasher after it's swan cycle, and there were two days that we did all the dishes by hand.  Do I have the best dishwasher ever to lay the silverware out so nicely?  Her name is Callie and I recommend that brand.

Tyler got the new dishwasher installed by using hours of  his precious free time.  And it sort of worked, if you count the basin filling with water and then draining (for the record, it was a bum dishwasher - Tyler was a great installer).  It is the most expensive dish rack we have ever owned but it's better than covering the counter tops with clean, drippy dishes.  We have a lot of those at our house:  3 cooked-from-scratch meals a day for 8+ people, and often 2 different kinds of food for each meal.  This picture does not show the extent of it.

Five days later the Lowe's guys came out and installed another new dishwasher. That one finally worked.  Hallelujah for a dishwasher that works again!
