A Painting Party

All through the experience of finishing our basement I felt keenly how much time was taken away from my children.  I really wanted the boys to feel like they were a part of the process, too, so when the time came to paint the basement, I determined that they would help paint the play area under the stairs.  We made a date of it.  The boys mostly rolled, I cut in around the top and made sure that we got paint over all the walls.

Them's tight quarters in there.  We came out surprisingly unscathed but with a few tell-tale signs that we had been painting:

This little guy decided it would be fun to roll the top of his beloved red boots.

Love the drizzle down the hair and eye.

He's got a spot at his crown, too.

J's hair got the frosted effect.

And he got a spot on the bum, too.

After dozens of "just a minute"'s, "later"'s, and "Mom has to work on the basement right now" it was a fun afternoon with my boys!
