Thankful for the new house: reason number forty-something

When we bought our first house and ended more than two years dwelling in basement apartments, I mentally formed a "top ten" list of reasons of why we were glad to live above ground again. I didn't record it soon enough, and now the only two things I remember are 1) I don't have to keep florescent lights on all day long -- real sunshine is much better! and 2) Being able to look out a front window when waiting for a ride.

Then we moved to this house, and I was pretty sure we could come up with one hundred reasons to be grateful for our new home. We kept tabs on the refrigerator for quite awhile, but after we got to about forty, we found it hard to think of new things to add. This morning, after more than a year passed when we were keeping track, I thought of another reason: getting to see the hot air balloons that frequent this area of town. A favorite launching spot is just on the other side of the creek, and during the summer we get a great hot air balloon show a few times a week. We love it! This morning there was a new hot air balloon launched along with three others. Just another fun thing that we get to enjoy living in this fabulous spot!
