We didn't even think to try the climbing wall until our last play day at the KOA. It was only open until 5pm and you had to have closed-toe shoes so there was a lot of scrambling and trading of shoes in order for everyone to get a turn that wanted one.
Ellie and Callie on the wall together. Callie loves rock climbing and got to try each of the three sides. She touched the top every time.
Jacob was another repeat climber that touched the top more than once. Seth was one of the awesome kids that shared his shoes so that Drew could try. I was surprised that Drew didn't take to it more. He went up a few feet and was done. It might have had something to do with the fact that he never used his feet. It was all upper-body strength. That boy is amazing! Maybe the shoes didn't fit right.
I was really surprised that this cute boy requested a turn. He enjoyed it and went a few times. Is it just that I am his mother or is everything that this boy does adorable?
Proof that I tried. Heights are not my thing. I do enjoy rappelling, though. My awesome footwear was courtesy of Callie.
Driving through Keystone on our way to church. Motorcycles EVERYWHERE.
Typical view driving on the roads. I kept thinking about how much Tyler would enjoy being surrounded by all these bikes. Did I mention that we counted 938 on our thirty minute drive to church? I think we missed counting a bunch, too.
We really enjoyed our church meetings in Rapid City. Then we decided to go find the Dinosaur Park since it was just a few miles away. I loved the drive there. The park itself was okay but it was hot and we were all tired, hungry and thirsty. The triplets wouldn't even leave the car.
Any efforts I make at having fun and creating memories are all inspired by my fantastic sister-in-law, Angie. Being able to meet her and the kids at Mt. Rushmore is what inspired this trip.
I think the little people enjoyed being around life-sized dinosaurs.
I loved, loved, loved the scenery. And also the fact that I finally had reception. My phone was stuck to my ear the entire time we were at the park. Had to catch up with my sweetheart!
Driving by Mt. Rushmore on the way back to the campsite.
A profile of George Washington, the ever-present motorcycles, and some well-deserved naps.
Our last breakfast - sugar cereals (a camping tradition with Aunt Angie)
Ready to head home after a GREAT trip!
