I heart Fresh Basil

I've been working on my bucket list a little this summer.  I don't have things written down officially, but now checked off are going to Mt. Rushmore, and growing my own basil.  

It's on a planter on my front porch, and when it is watered it gives off its wonderful basil-y aroma and I think I have been transported to Italy.  It's like a mini vacation whenever I go out there and smell it.  

It made perfect Margherita Pizza.  And as of last night I finally purchased fresh mozzarella cheese and could make my own Caprese Salad.  I think I am the only one who cared, but I loved it.

Up next is fresh, homemade pesto sauce.  Can't wait.

fresh pesto is like chocolate for me! LOVE it!! hope your's turns out great. mom has basil growing in her hydroponics system and she gets leaves that are the size of your hand! not exaggerating! and they taste amazing
