My man's got skills: buying-food-in-bulk skills, water conservation skills, hair cutting skills, rabbit whispering skills...I could go on and on. Tyler is one unique guy. His wife is particularly grateful that on Monday he chose to put some of his fantastic skills to work building a sandbox to help us get through the summer. I was astonished & delighted to have him go to the hardware store and bring home all the supplies, including 1250 lbs. of sand, and have the whole thing assembled & complete with Jacob's help in a matter of a few hours. Wow! And that's not the half of it -- he actually took both boys to Home Depot with him to pick up the supplies. He waited at the checkout for awhile for someone to come help him load up all the sand. The story goes something like this: he waited awhile, then noticed that it was past time to have Drew home for lunch & a nap, Drew had a stinky diaper, so with one hand holding crazy Drew on the top of 25 50 lb. bags of sand, Tyler pushed the whole thing to the car to load it up himself. The nice young cashier gave him a look (of admiration, maybe?). Tyler's reply: "This takes skill, lady." And when I went to the same store the next day toting two boys in p.j.'s who refused to get dressed, one of which had to hold my hand with one of his hands and his too-large p.j. bottoms up with the other hand to keep from exposing himself, Tyler is pretty sure I had the same cashier which is why she was so nice to me -- because she knows what we're up against!
One more notable skill: the inclusion of a compartment on the sandbox to hold all of the outdoor toys! Our backyard has looked remarkably nicer since the toys have had a home, and now we don't need to make a separate purchase. Way to go Tyler!!!
Busy boys = happy wife = SKILLS!
