Time for a Change

It's funny what makes my heart flip-flop.  A chore chart?  But after a year or two of faithful service, this one is headed for the trashcan, and I will never again have 6 children in our chore rotation.

It is so strange.  It felt like our family kept getting bigger and bigger...and now it is shrinking.  Not really - Callie is still very much a part of our family, and in the coming years we will grow again with marriages and babies.  But as far as our day-to-day lives, it is shrinking.

7 plates at the table when we are all home for dinner.

Our family prayer circle is smaller.

And Jacob has a LOT more jobs to do.  "Mom, you didn't take any away - you just added more!"  Yep, we all feel that way, and yet the bathroom mirrors are STILL not getting cleaned on a regular basis.  You left a gaping hole, Callie - and not just in our chore charts.  But we are excited for you to spread your wings.

P.S. Watching "Piper", the short before Finding Dory, is maybe not the best thing to do right when you send one of your babies off to college.
