And July Flew By

This is all it takes to keep a four year old happy for an afternoon.

And maybe a pile of doll clothes that need a good washing.  Time. Of. Her. Life.

Even though he's not pictured, a certain six year old brother was very helpful in stringing up the clothes line and making sure the clothes were all hung properly.

Callie got a second job at Walmart.  She wasn't too happy about working there but the pay and hours were right. And we got a good laugh over her posing in her hot new uniform.

Update:  She actually really likes working there.  She works with people from many different backgrounds but she genuinely loves and appreciates them.  And she says that folding and organizing apparel is highly therapeutic.

There was a fast visit from Elder Rollins.  Uncle Mark picked him up from the airport, fed him lunch, and then he and Eleanor stopped here on the way to drop him off at the MTC.  It's fun to have family close by - Grandpa and Lisa joined us for a brief hello/see you later.

Our neighbor invited us over to swim in her pool while she was tending grandkids one day.  We had so much fun!

Camden used the float like it was a kayak. This boy loves to boat!

Emmie learned to be a pool bum and lay out (but only after swimming her hardest for a couple of hours)

Ruby and her parents stayed with us one weekend. Oh, she's a sweetie! We had to send Tyler a selfie showing him what he was missing out on since Ruby got here before he was home from work.

Emmie was thrilled that they had almost-matching pajamas.

Bucket list item fulfilled:  a family bike ride.  I am going to count it even though we were missing our teenaged daughters.  I hope that it is the first of many.  We discovered a BMX course while we were out which was a thrill for the boys. At first Camden was too nervous to bike down the initial hill and I was OK with that. When he finally decided to do it I was proud of him (and half scared out of my wits) but he did it!

We hosted a Kalana cousins dinner.  This group is so fun to be around but so difficult to photograph!  Someone was always pulling a trick even in the serious photos.  And yet, I can't think of a better family to marry into - love these people!

Almost serious
 Allowed to be goofy
Almost the whole gang (after Jentry's cute family left and some kids were tucked into bed)

We've had a library day almost every week.  It was actually a cooler day so the little kids played on the playground afterwards.  I thought my boys looked so picturesque that I pulled out the phone to take a picture, and just then we ran into one of Camden's friend's dad.  He wanted to know if I played Pokemon Go, too.  Thank you for my laugh for the day!

It was a very long week having our Hannah gone from Monday at 12:45pm until Friday at 5:40pm (but who was watching the clock).  Hooray for coming home and getting to take a shower!

We've had a lot of deer in the field behind our house.  One day Tyler got home from work just in time - a deer had just hopped the fence into our yard and was hanging out.

He decided to check out the garden and nibbled at our grape and tomato plants.  Then he took an hour long nap in between our rows of berries!

Jacob has been my handy guy this summer.  He liked wielding the power sander, but said that these benches were way too hard and took too long and turned the painting job over to me.  Doesn't white look better than mustard? My husband kindly gave up his parking space in the garage for 2 weeks as we had to take a few breaks during the makeover process.

There was lots of reunion fun with my side of the family.  The day after it was over Mary, Dave, and Brad came to church with us and spent the afternoon at our house.  Dave is a great uncle - he helped teach the boys how to play The Great Dalmuti and later on was seen out back with Emmie.

July flew by but I think we did our best to enjoy every minute of it.  Family time is the best!
