Rumor had it that a certain boy was going to ask Callie to Prom, so it wasn't too much of a surprise when an invite showed up on our doorstep one night.
The surprise was that it was 10:30, the parents were in bed, and it
took a few knocks before Callie and Hannah decided they weren't hearing
things and someone (or something) was at the door. Bless Hannah's heart for taking pictures of some of the action.
I think my little girl was kind of excited.
It was a thoughtful invite based on her favorite things (all things French and airplanes) and their mutual favorite short "Paperman". So for a reply we had a family event of folding paper airplanes a few nights later. We made about 80 and she took a couple of friends with her to scatter them all over his yard one night, with one on his doorstep that said yes (another nod to Paperman).
Their prom group was really fun and the day date was a Nerf war and then lunch at one of the guy's houses - make and eat your own PB sandwiches while you had your hand tied to your date's.
That afternoon we got to visit with some cousins as Jonathan was coming over to say goodbye before heading home to leave on his mission (he enters the MTC the same day as Callie's prom date, Brandon). It is always wonderful to visit with family!
Emmie and Camden worked on Lisa's hair.
They offered to do Callie's but...she chose to do her own.
Okay, she did a pretty great job.
Callie wanted to make sure that we got pictures of her and Emmie together, since Emmie loves all things sparkly, pretty, and girly - and she had an almost-matching dress.
This dress was a 30-hour labor of love.
The three jewels in my crown - don't I have the prettiest daughters?
And the silliest!
Flower time - and no, she didn't stick him.
Ready to head out for a great night!
