Nesting Spree

I went on a nesting spree early this fall.  It started with my Dad visiting and helping out with all kinds of projects and I just kept the momentum...I love the results and am glad it's done because I'm feeling every day of being 6 months pregnant now.

Halfway through the "flower bed" project in the backyard -- we removed half a dozen ugly bushes, enjoyed weeds for the summer, finally picked out shade-friendly flowering plants, removed cement curbing from undesirable locations and...

We won't win yard of the month but I beat the frost by a day or so and am hoping the perennials will return next year.  Definitely an improvement.
Hooray for our archway!  Thanks to my Dad for making the plans, helping accumulate the supplies, and for cutting all the wood.  It was assembled in 24 hours.  Our grape vine will be very happy this year with somewhere to grow.
Overall the new look for our house -- new archway, new roof, newly painted door, newly painted lamps.  I love it!  We are slowly saying goodbye to all things early 90's.
Goodbye tarnished brass.

The door -- hooray for no more forest green!
