St. Patrick's Day 2011

The green gang 2011.  Drew was double-safe since he wore not one but two green shirts.
I did something crazy this year and decided spur of the moment to fulfill my dream of having a spring green laundry room and what better day to do it than St. Patrick's Day.  This was not high on my priority list but I had Tyler's willing support & encouragement from friends so I went spontaneous and did it.  My heart was still in California after our fun week there and let me tell you there is nothing like Behr's "grass cloth" smiling at me from the laundry room's wall to bring it back.  Because I still have to do beadboard, paint white trim and put up a cupboard and hooks I may never get around to having a big reveal post.  But I had to share my bright spot in my house.

Also new this year, I served corned beef & cabbage for the first time.  I had never even eaten it before and it was yummy!  Here's the super easy recipe I used http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/corned-beef-and-cabbage-i/Detail.aspx
That's a keeper of a tradition for us.  Next year we'll try Irish soda bread to go with it.

Beware of the Irish soda bread... I always thought it was "just bread" but it's actually a sweet bread. Someone in our office brought some in on St Patrick's Day.

Good job with the painting!!!

A few things:

1) Love the green wall. So fun for a laundry room.

2)I have some ideas for Hannah's doodles. We should do lunch. Wanna come over? (since our youngins would probably not make an out-to-eat lunch date very fun) We're flexible, name a date.

3) I have been thinking about the subtitle on your blog for the past week. I love it--it doesn't mean you are perfect or that your life is perfect, but you are living in the manner that brings happiness and therefore it does. So many self help books could be eliminated if more of us could apply those principles of happiness. Thanks for a week of food for thought.

Love the new laundry room color!

It's been many years since I've had corned beef and cabbage. Sure is yummy!
