Once the ultrasound revealed the gender of our new baby, it was time to get serious about the name game. We've had a little girls' name picked out for eight years now, and were just sure we were going to get to use it. Maybe we'll still have an Emily Kate someday. In the meantime, the local peanut gallery has a lot to suggest and say about names. Amazingly, we think we've got a name picked out but are holding out to share with the family until we just announce it after his birth. When asked by the kids what we were going to name him, I flippantly said "Winding Valley" one day. Oh, how we have been heckled. Girls close to tears suggesting that his classmates will laugh at him. Or stubbornly insisting on calling him Luke since that is their preferred name. Jacob is always coming up with new ideas. Here is a fairly exhaustive list that Hannah has written down -- complete with original spelling.
Tyson Tyler (Jacob's pick)
Winding Valley
Winding River (for those times when I forget I said valley and accidentally say river instead)
Luke ("The Best Name of All Times!!!" according to the girls)
Enoch
Stephen
Jo/Joe/Joseph
Roger
John
Benjamen
Kaden
Waylon
Christopher
Tristin
Jack
Willam
Jonathen
Zeke
Antheny
Lebe
Roy
Cade
Troy
Johnna (???)
Kyle
Aaron
David
Jessie
Danille
James
Eathen
Jamie
It's good to know that if our pick doesn't work out, we've got some options.

I'm voting for Zeke. :)
Oh, I forgot to tell you... I love that yodeling quote! It made me giggle.
I still like Winding Valley. Of course, we wouldn't always call him that. Certainly we could just call him 'Winding.' Or 'Win.' Or maybe 'Winnie.'
I vote Lebe with middle name Jebidiah. Lebe Jebidiah. Yes- that is it.
I personally agree with the kids on Roger. Roger Rogers, sounds like a trucker. A very successful trucker.
