This is a celebration we have looked forward to for each of our children - their very first birthday. The only real reason we care is to see if we've raised them properly, in that they demolish their birthday cake. Drew seems to qualify that Suzanne and I have steadily increased our parenting skills. He was the very fastest into the cake with both fists. However, our tired boy was done with the ordeal in just a few minutes, and we had to get him down.
Here's the cake that Callie and Hannah made.

Here's Drew within the first 15 seconds.

Then the next 15 seconds ...

By about three minutes into it, Drew had had enough, and let us know.

We're working out the kinks for future children to decide how to get a more demolished cake as quickly, but with some increased longevity for all observing.

Can't wait to see the cutie! I can't believe he's really a year old!
For some reason I was reading this as "Hugh Nibley reaches one year." I was trying to figure out what about Hugh Nibley and one year you were celebrating (because, after all, you would celebrate Hugh Nibley any way you could :)). But it's ANDREW. Ah. Yes, happy birthday to your adorable little Nibley :) XO
Alise, you're brilliant. We do celebrate Brother Hugh! Callie has started reading his quote book, "Of All Things!" She's quickly learned that it's not a fast read as, say, Harry Potter. :o)
